Photography Camp

DETAILS

SCHEDULE 

Mon – Fri:   9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Drop-off:     8:45 AM – 9:00 AM

Lunch:       12:00 PM – 1:00 PM 

​Pick-up:      4:00 PM Immediately following the end of camp. A $15 fee will be charged for every 15 minutes (or portion thereof) for students picked up after the appropriately scheduled time.


Morning Care:     7:00 AM – 9:00AM ($50 PER WEEK)          

Afternoon Care:  4:00 PM – 6:00 PM ($50 PER WEEK)

Catered lunch, snacks and refreshments are available ($75 PER WEEK)

If you choose to pack lunch, please include water and snacks

$150 Registration fee (one time only)

CANCELLATION/TRANSFER POLICY
Please understand that classes are based on meeting a minimum number of (6) registrations in order to run. Full refunds will be made if a class is cancelled due to less than minimum enrollment. 

A $25 fee will be charged for any cancellation or transfer of your registration from one class to another. Refunds will only be issued for withdrawals made at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp. The registration fee is non-refundable. 


PLEASE NOTE

A Digital SLR Camera & Laptop are required and are not included.

Students will complete each session with an online portfolio and will participate in a Photo Workshops Studio Gallery Night Exhibit.

NATURE & LIFESTYLE

Day 1    9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Learning your camera and breaking out of auto mode

  • Understand the purpose of adjusting each of the fundamental camera settings

  • Experiment with different creative and manual modes to better understand their functions

  • Learn about aperture and depth-of-field 

  • Learn about shutter speed for capturing action

  • Learning the Elements of Art & Principles of Design and how to properly compose photographs


Day 2    9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Photo Excursion

  • Natural setting, location TBD


Day 3    9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Photo Editing

  • Selecting and Editing Images with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

  • Creating a workflow and learning how to organize your images properly

  • Recognize a photo that has improper exposure, poor composition or focus, and other problems and learn to correct them

  • Using, editing and creating presets

  • Recognizing and syncing images with similar problems for better time management 

 

Day 4    9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Lifestyle Photo Walk in Coral Gables

  • Create a series of images that tells a story or demonstrates a process

  • Practice good composition 

  • Understand depth-of-field and how it relates to focus planes

  • Editing and exporting images

  • Start a photography portfolio online to showcase the skills acquired


Day 5   9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Gallery and portfolio selection

  • Peer portfolio review and feedback 

  • Fundamentals of printing, framing and exhibiting

  • Photo lab tour and guest speaker


 Gallery Night 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

  • Friday Night Gallery Showing for Family & Friends

  • Nature and Lifestyle Exhibit

  • All students will exhibit and take home at least one piece of art and will receive a certificate of completion
